Abstract:This paper uses CMIP6 historical simulations of different scenarios, selects non-parametric SPI as drought index to study the anthropogenic impacts on drought in China from 1851 to 2005. The results show that: in historical natural-only simulation, China shifts towards a slightly wetter profile. Drought frequency, maximum drought duration and maximum drought intensity increase significantly in southeast China, but decrease significantly in northwest China. Aerosols significantly increases the drought frequency in China while greenhouse gases significantly reduces the drought frequency in most of China. There are significant differences in bivariate distributions of all 10 major water zones under historical and historical natural-only conditions.
