Abstract:Deyang, located in Southwest China, is a city with water shortage. Obvious difference of groundwater endowmentcharacteristics is shown in different areas. In order to analyze the sustainability in groundwater exploitation, this paper set up anevaluation indicator system of groundwater sustainable exploitation and utilization with difference in endowment of groundwaterresources, and proposed the corresponding indicator processing and evaluation grade method. 3 representative areas were selected forcase study, and the connotation of the evaluation results were determined based on the dominant function of groundwater in thestudy areas. The study results show that the evaluation indicator system and evaluation results can reflect the difference of keyindicators affecting the groundwater sustainable development and groundwater resources endowment charac teristics. The researchresults are helpful to improve the understanding of groundwater functional zone and groundwater resources endowment characteristicsin Sichuan Basin, and can provide reference for the study of sustainable development and utilization of groundwater resources.
