The red lines of groundwater table were designated by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province in 2013, which is one of the earliest implementation of the red line control in China. Based on the hydrogeological conditions and groundwater exploitation and utilization in Jiangsu Province, the standards and methods for assessment of the control level for the red lines of groundwater table were proposed, which could be used to evaluate groundwater table control management for provincial, city, county and township levels. Moreover, a set of accessory management assessment system could be provided for effective groundwater resources management and objectively reflecting the control levels of the red lines of groundwater table.
