Abstract:T h e w ater reso urces eco log ical footprint a n d ecological carry ing cap acity in th e H un he H iver c atc h m en l from 20 05 to 2 0 1 3 were calc u la te d a(!〇ord in g to th e w ater reso u rces ecological footprint m odel, and th e utilization of w ater reso u rces in th e c atc h m en t was assessed b ased on th e c aic u la le d index. T h e resu lts are as follows: from 2 0 0 5 to 20 13 , th e w ater reso urces ecological footprint in th e H un lie R iver catch m en t show a n o n -sig n ific a n t dow nw ard tre n d , w hile the w ater reso u rces ecological carry ing c ap acity flu ctu ated a n d was sign ifican tly related to precip itatio n in the catch m en t. T h ere w as ecological deficit of w ater reso u rces in all th e y ears from 2 0 0 5 to 2 0 1 3 but 2 0 1 0 , w hen th ere w as a su rp lu s. T he w ater reso u rces ecologic al footprint index was below the range of llie su stain al)ilily , hut th e w ater reso u rces ecological footprint per 104 Y uan G D P con tin u ed to d e crease. O ver all, th e w ater reso urces utilization in the c atch m en l was un su stain ah ilily , h u t ihe ulilizatio n efficiency im proved obviously an d it was develo pin g tow ards sustainability sin ce 2010.
