Abstract:The hydrologic cycle on land surface is open to the exchanges of energy and mass that is characterized by irreversibility and energy dissipation,and thus it can be quantitatively described by the concept of thermodynamic entropy.The calculation method for entropy production rate in the hydrologic cycle is provided by considering the energy and mass exchanges in hydrologic factors:precipitation,soil wetting,evapotranspiration and runoff.The preliminary result suggests that evapotranspiration has the largest ...
