This paper analysis the existed standards of drainage basin partition of China. In order to solve the technical questions that involves encoding the objects of hydraulic projects database, a tentative adjust plan of drainage basin partition of china is suggested and some impact factors such as the population distribution, land resource exploration extend and hydrological runoff depth etc. is considered. In this plan, the eleven firstclass basin partitions is partitioned based on the natural properties of drainage basin ,then second and third basin partitions is considered the demand of water resources quantity computation. The extended principle of fourth and fifth class basin partitions is suggested.
