According to characteristics of rainfall and flood in extraordinary small catchments, this paper summarized calculation method of design flood peak discharge and flood process, selection of formula and rational examination, h particularly suggested that hydrological investigation on extraordinary small catchments should be undertaken no matter which formula is selected to calculate the design flood peak discharge. Additionally, hydrometric data should used as much as possible to analyze and verify the parameters, so as to make the calculating result more rational.
