To keep the Yellow River from flow cutoff is the necessary condition for allowing its riverside source fields alive. The frequent flow cutoff of the Yellow River threatens the stability of the water source fields. Thereby, the groundwater simulation model was set up for the groundwater system in affected zone of Yellow River, which can be used to simulate the transformation of lateral seepage or groundwater in the riverside source fields under the condition of flow cutoff and flow recovery. The study shows that the lateral seepage of Yellow River will increase by 28.4-126.4% comparing with that without riverside exploitation under the condition of flow cutoff. The running of Xiaolangdi Reservoir is important for the stable exploitation of river source fields.
