Based on the data of discharge and sediment in Datong gauging station of Yangtze River from1951to1999,the regression analysis between the discharge and the sediment has been made in order to understand the correlation between the sediment flux and the mean multi-year discharge of each month,the mean monthly value of each year,the mean value of each month,the mean yearly value.Analyzing the discharge and sediment variation at Datong gauging station of Yangtze River has drawn out the principle of the variation trend for discharge and sediment.
