The results of an experimental investigation and theoretical analysis on the stability criteria of the floes under ice jam are presented in this paper.The reasonable formulae have been set out,and which is similar to the stability criteria of the sand on riverbed subject to neglecting the variation of the value tb/L and ni/nb.The inadequacy of the previous studies is pointed out.
