This paper studies and analyses the statistical properties of the national 160 reservoirs with large and middle size.The results show that maximum annual water levels of reservoir can be considered as independent variables and described by log-normal distribution.The probabilistic distribution of maximum annual water levels mostly have characteristic of negative skewness.Three parameters of log-normal distribution can be reasonably estimated using probability weighted moment method.
