By using the long term observed solar radiation,evaporation and meteorological data in Wuhan,the Penman formula is discussed and modified in this paper,Otherwise,the method of calculating surface albedo is studied and the modified formula is used to estimate lake evaporation and catchment po-tential evapotranspiration. The results are satisfactory.
