(2) T h e ru no ff at th e P in g sh an S tation in th e do w n stream o f the Jin s h a jia n g R iv er in d ic a te s an u p tren d and a n a b ru p t c h a n g e in 1 997, m ean w h ile, th e p recip itatio n at th e Y ib in S tatio n reflects th e o p po site tre n d w ith a m u tatio n p o in t in 1 9 9 1 . Sim ilarly , th e a n n u a l ru n o ff at th e hydrology statio n s in th e T h ree G orges R e a c h p re se n ts a d o w n tren d a n d ab ru p t ch a n g es in 1 968 a n d 2 0 0 5 , w hile th e p re c ip ita tio n at the S h ap in g b a S tatio n show s an in c re a sin g tre n d w ith ob vio usly m u tatio n p o in ts in 1961 a n d 1995.
