From 1st to 4th September, 2005, the cold air from the northern part of China encountered the low-pressure cloud in Anhui Province where was undergoing the 13th Typhoon Talim. This let an extraordinary storm happened in the province. There were three storm centers that were respectively located at Zhangchong Station on the up-stream of the Pihe River, Yuexi Station on the up-stream of the Wanghe River and Changshan Station on the up-stream of the Chuhe River. The largest 3-day precipitation is 687mm and the largest 24-hour precipitation is 544mm. Based on the actual measured data, the cause of formation and the characteristics of this storm and flood are analyzed, and the contrast analysis with the historical data is demonstrated too.
